Woman Killed by Vehicle on 10 Freeway in Santa Monica

Victim struck at Cloverfield Boulevard on-ramp Sunday night

A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on the 10 Freeway in Santa Monica Sunday.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2 on the Cloverfield Boulevard on-ramp to the Santa Monica (10) Freeway. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Santa Monica Police Department reported to the CHP that prior to the incident the woman was spotted stumbling and appearing disoriented nearby on the 2100 block of Delaware Avenue.

The victim’s name and age have not yet been released by officials. There have been no reports that the driver of the vehicle was detained, though the CHP could not immediately confirm this.

The freeway on ramp was shut down from 10:55 p.m. to around 2 a.m.
