Nakao, Peters Lead Samohi Softball Team To 6-1 Start:

Hannah-Rose Peters starred for the Samohi softball team last season and is prominent again. But she’s receiving a lot of help from Kaile Nakao now.

Coach Debbie Skaggs’ team has a 6-1 record and Nakao is the leading hitter at .400, followed by Peters at .389 and Haley Condon and Yanette Guzman at .300.

Peters pitches most of the time and has a 4-1 record. Nakao is 1-0 as a pitcher.

In recent games the Vikings defeated Sylmar 2-1, J. Serra 3-2 and West Torrance 6-5.

The Brentwood softball team is also doing well with a 4-1 record.

Kelsey Grogan and Logan Kinsey are batting .455. As a pitcher Kinsey has a 2-1 record with 29 strikeouts in 21 innings.

Brentwood defeated New Roads 8-2 and Archer 9-8 but lost to Notre Dame Academy 6-1.The Crossroads softball team has a 16-4 victory over Oakwood and two wins in the St. Monica Tournament, 1-0 over Lawndale and 7-0 over Whitney. The Roadrunners also lost to Viewpoint 7-6.
