Ring in the Year of the Rabbit with a 90-Foot Lightshow at Pacific Park!

Light display comes to the Ferris Wheel Friday through Sunday

Celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit with a spectacular show of lights from Pacific Park’s 90-foot-tall Ferris Wheel.

Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will celebrate the Lunar New Year of the “Rabbit” on the 90-foot-tall Ferris Wheel while featuring “Happy New Year” in Mandarin, along with displays of holiday red and gold colors, patterns and icons from popular Lunar New Year celebrations.

The celebration will take place from Friday-Sunday, January 20-22, beginning at sunset. The Ferris wheel lights program can also be viewed online at www.pacpark.com/live.

The Pacific Wheel is mounted with 174,000 LED lights on its 40 spokes and two hubs. Its solar-powered lighting system features 16.7 million color value combinations, and its software can create dynamic, custom computer-generated lighting with up to 24 frames per second. This eco-friendly LED lighting is 81 percent more efficient than traditional lighting.
