The Board Of Downtown Santa Monica Inc. Recommended That The City Enter Into a License Agreement With The Business to Lease The Vacant 1,133 Square Ft. Space at 1431 2nd Street.
A new tropical-themed juice, smoothie, and acai bowl shop may soon occupy the first floor of Parking Structure 6 in Downtown Santa Monica.
The proposed business is part of an effort to revitalize the area and activate unused spaces. The Board of Downtown Santa Monica Inc. (DTSM) recommended that the City of Santa Monica enter into a license agreement with Little Hawaii Juice Bar to lease the vacant 1,133 square ft. space at 1431 2nd Street, formerly occupied by KC Chocolatier.
During a presentation to the DTSM Business and Community Development Committee, City of Santa Monica Economic Development Manager Jennifer Taylor endorsed the Little Hawaii proposal, stating that the business’s founder, Gal Noy, has a successful track record with previous acai spots in the LA area and a deep understanding of the Santa Monica market.
The proposed location, next to an Orangetheory Fitness, would put the first Little Hawaii Juice Bar in proximity to several gyms, hotels, and a women’s health center. The shop’s menu is set to include a selection of fresh teas, lemonades, healthy foods, and between five to ten different smoothie options and six to ten juice types.
