Blue Plate Oysterette Is Back and Shucking At Its Ocean Avenue Location

The Revival Will Feature Menu Items From The Lucky Yu Pop Up

By Dolores Quintana

Blue Plate Oysterette is excited to announce the return of its menu starting July 1st. Located at 1355 Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, the beloved seafood restaurant will once again delight customers with its signature dishes and select items from Lucky Yu. This fan-favorite pop-up has been at the Blue Plate Oysterette location since May, and you can still find some of your Lucky Yu favorites there. Lucky Yu is moving on as of June 30, hopefully to a new brick-and-mortar location.

Operating hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends. To ensure a seamless dining experience, reservations can be made through OpenTable.

Patrons can look forward to indulging in these menu favorites, including the mouthwatering Fish & Chips, featuring locally caught ling cod, beer-battered, and served with Old Bay fries and tartar sauce. The Lobster Roll, available with drawn butter or house aioli, served on a brioche bun or lettuce cup and accompanied by Old Bay fries, is another highlight.

For those seeking pure indulgence, the Lobster Mac & Cheese is a must-try, combining the richness of lobster with white truffle oil. Additionally, seafood enthusiasts can savor the whole Maine lobster, steamed to perfection and accompanied by arugula, truffled fingerling potatoes, and drawn butter.

Of course, Blue Plate Oysterette wouldn’t be complete without its selection of raw oysters and seafood towers, offering a tantalizing array of fresh and flavorful options. You’ll find Peruvian scallops with ponzu and salmon roe, Blue Plate Oysterette crab dip with lump crab, mayo, shallots, and ritz crackers, and cherrystone clams with mustard aioli and mignonette and the First Mate and The Captain seafood towers.
