Alice Walker at the Santa Monica Main Library

One of the major figures of contemporary American literature and an outspoken advocate of human rights, Alice Walker has added to her impressive output of books with a new children’s book, Why War Is Never A Good Idea. Both adults and children (ages 6-up) are invited to meet Walker at this gathering, where she will sign books and talk about her writing career. 2-3pm, free, MLK Jr. Auditorium, Santa Monica Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd., 310.458.8621.
