DUI Checkpoint Friday:

The Santa Monica Police Department will be conducting a sobriety/drivers license checkpoint on Friday, October 26, in the 2500 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

Officers will be contacting drivers to confirm their sobriety and drivers license status. This is the first of several DUI/drivers license checkpoints to be conducted over the next 12 months.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant by the Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Santa Monica Police Department reminds drivers that if they plan on drinking they should have a designated driver or call a cab.
