Free Entry to Tech Fair Offered for Library, TAP Card Holders

The perks are part of a broader push to integrate the Oct. 13 event with community access programs, coinciding with the city’s 150th anniversary and the launch of Los Angeles Tech Week 2025

Santa Monica residents holding library cards or Metro TAP cards can score free or discounted admission to Monday’s second annual Tech St. street fair, organizers announced this week, as the coastal city rolls out incentives to boost local participation in the innovation showcase.

Library cardholders from the Santa Monica Public Library qualify for complimentary general admission tickets by registering online and applying the code “LIBRY_FREE” at checkout on the event website, tech-week.com. Separately, any resident — including those with a TAP card, the reloadable fare card used for Los Angeles Metro transit — can claim a $10 “locals only” discount on general admission using the code “CITY10.”

The perks are part of a broader push to integrate the Oct. 13 event with community access programs, coinciding with the city’s 150th anniversary and the launch of Los Angeles Tech Week 2025. A free Tech Week Passport, available online, also unlocks special offers at nearby restaurants, shops and attractions through Oct. 19.

The fair transforms Ocean Avenue between Santa Monica Boulevard and Broadway, plus portions of Palisades Park, into a pedestrian zone from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Expected exhibits from startups and venture firms include Hustle Fund and Alumni Ventures, robotics demos, live performances, a beer garden and the Los Angeles Regional Startup World Cup pitch competition.
