Southern California pizzerias unite to serve hundreds of free pizzas for those in need

L.A. Pizza Alliance brings together 50 pizza makers to support those affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires and ICE raids.

Pizza makers from across Southern California gathered Wednesday night to provide free meals and show support for communities still recovering from the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires and those who have been affected by the ICE raids that are still taking place in Southern California.

The effort brought together 50 pizzerias and chefs who volunteered their time and resources.

For the second consecutive year, the L.A. Pizza Alliance organized the event outside LaSorted’s Pizza in Chinatown, where portable pizza ovens were set up alongside the restaurant’s kitchen to produce and distribute approximately 1,000 pizzas. The alliance was formed in the immediate aftermath of last year’s fires, and even more concerned chefs have joined in.

David Turkell, co-founder of the Pizza Alliance, said, as quoted by ABC Eyewitness News, “We have 75 of L.A’s best pizza shops here in Chinatown distributing pizzas to anyone who needs it. Specifically, people who have suffered from the Eaton Fire, from the Palisades Fire, as well as people who… have been torn apart by the recent ICE raids that have been happening all over the city.”

Participating pizzerias traveled from throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, donating ingredients and labor to bake throughout the evening. Westside participants included Ronan, Hasi Bread, Apollonia’s, Pizzana, Pizzeria Sei, Prime Pizza, Triple Beam Pizza, and Wallflour Pizza. Eastside staple Quarter Sheets also joined the effort, along with LaSorted’s Pizza, which served as the host location.

Chef Diego Argoti of Estrano was among the individual chefs who contributed to the event, working alongside pizzeria teams to meet the night’s production goals, and let’s not forget the volunteer drivers who delivered the piping hot pies to those who were in need.
