Los Angeles Renews Economic Partnership With Singapore Agency

The agreement extends a previous 2022-2025 partnership during which the number of Singaporean companies in Los Angeles County rose 84% and employment at those firms increased 135%

The city of Los Angeles has signed a new three-year memorandum of understanding with Enterprise Singapore, a government agency that promotes Singaporean business expansion.

The agreement extends a previous 2022-2025 partnership during which the number of Singaporean companies in Los Angeles County rose 84% and employment at those firms increased 135%, according to the World Trade Center Los Angeles. Singapore became the county’s 16th largest source of foreign direct investment and the top one from Southeast Asia.

Focus areas include advanced manufacturing such as semiconductors and robotics, life sciences and biotechnology, supply chain and logistics technologies, and clean technologies including renewable energy and mobility.

Implementation will be coordinated by the mayor’s Office of International Affairs alongside city, state and regional partners, including Los Angeles World Airports, the Port of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.

Enterprise Singapore Chairman Lee Chuan Teck said the partnership reinforces Los Angeles as a gateway for Singapore companies entering North America.
