The restaurant is known for its Taiwanese dishes inspired by street food and night markets in Taipei.

A second Los Angeles location of the Taiwanese restaurant Joy is planned for 418 Wilshire Blvd., according to a recently filed application with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The address was previously home to Wahoo’s Fish Taco.

Joy currently operates in Highland Park on York Boulevard. The restaurant is known for its Taiwanese dishes inspired by street food and night markets in Taipei, including minced pork on rice and scallion pancakes. The menu also features seasonal cold appetizers, soups, greens and a selection of tea drinks, beer and wine.

The Highland Park location describes itself as a casual, counter-service neighborhood eatery that does not take reservations.

Joy is affiliated with Pine & Crane, another Taiwanese restaurant in Los Angeles. Some dishes reflect northern-style Chinese influences, including wheat-based items such as buns, dumplings and noodles.
