The Los Angeles Master Chorale will headline the season finale of the “Masters in the Chapel” concert series with a free performance in Venice this weekend.

The concert is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. at First Lutheran Church of Venice, where the long-running community series is hosted. Organizers said no reservations are required.

The performance, titled This Shining Night, will feature 12 singers from the Chorale under the direction of Artistic Director Grant Gershon, accompanied by pianist Lisa Edwards.

The program will explore themes of love, community and connection, showcasing a range of choral works spanning contemporary and classical traditions. Composers include Eric Whitacre, Reena Esmail, Shawn Kirchner and Morten Lauridsen, alongside works by Renaissance composer William Byrd and modern composers including Michael Abels and Jennifer Lucy Cook.

Organizers said the concert aims to provide a “transcendent musical experience” and highlight some of today’s most innovative choral voices.
