Annual event at SMC Performing Arts Center to feature student and community performances for all ages.
Santa Monica College will present its fifth annual Family Concert on May 16, offering a free, all-ages event designed to showcase music and community collaboration.
The concert is scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Music Hall inside the SMC Performing Arts Center. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and parking will be free, organizers said.
Directed by music instructor Megumi Smith, the program will feature performances involving multiple college departments, including music, art and dance, as well as collaborations with Santa Monica High School, Ballet Folklórico de Mayo and Mugen Taiko.
College officials said the event aims to engage audiences of all ages while highlighting the role of the arts in fostering community connections.
