School principals will present strategic goals and performance metrics on May 13.
School principals from across the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District will present their strategic roadmaps for the upcoming academic year during a special Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, May 13.
The session, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., will be held at the Professional Development Learning Center located at 2802 4th St. in Santa Monica. Unlike regular board sessions, this meeting will not offer a remote viewing option via Zoom. Residents and stakeholders who wish to observe the proceedings or provide public comment must attend the event in person.
The meeting serves as a formal platform for each site administrator to summarize their School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) for the 2026-2027 school year. Principals and staff are expected to outline their primary objectives, specific instructional strategies, and the metrics used to track student progress. Presentations will also include “celebrations of work” from the current year to illustrate how recent successes are shaping future goals.
While the board will review the details of these individualized plans on Wednesday, the formal approval of the SPSAs is slated for the district’s regular meeting on June 23.The full agenda is available for public review on the district’s official website.
