Among the businesses being recognized are Our Sweet Lives, an award-winning bakery known for cookies and dessert bars; Vision Sprouts, which produces California-made sprouted nuts, seeds and nut butter sauces; and Branch Patty.

The Topanga Farmers Market will combine Juneteenth recognition and Father’s Day celebrations during its Friday market, offering residents and visitors a chance to support local vendors, shop for holiday gifts and enjoy community activities ahead of the long weekend.

With many workers observing Juneteenth and taking the day off, market organizers are encouraging families to spend the morning shopping for fresh produce, locally made products and ingredients for Father’s Day gatherings.

The market will also highlight several Black-owned small businesses in recognition of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Organizers said the featured vendors play an important role in the market’s diverse business community.

Among the businesses being recognized are Our Sweet Lives, an award-winning bakery known for cookies and dessert bars; Vision Sprouts, which produces California-made sprouted nuts, seeds and nut butter sauces; and Branch Patty, a maker of handcrafted Jamaican-style patties.

“Juneteenth is a time to reflect on freedom, resilience and the ongoing pursuit of equity,” market organizers said. “It’s also an opportunity to intentionally support Black-owned businesses throughout the year.”
