The high-wire live-fire Estrano Verano wraps its run at Skyduster Beer alongside coffee giveaways and Two Rose’s backyard bakery on Sunday.

It’s a big weekend for food with the finale of Estrano Verano or Estrano Summer at Skyduster Beer at 1124 San Julian Street, with the two final World Cup games. Chef Diego Argoti has released the menu for Saturday, July 18, with service beginning at “noonish”, which will accompany the third-place playoff match between England and France. Skyduster Beer and cocktails by Rossoblu will also be available. These are your last two chances to eat Chef Diego’s incredible high-wire live fire creations. Seriously, you will be sad if you were one of the ones who never took part in Estrano Verano.

- Wagyu Zambuton $48, Grilled Denver Steak, Long beans, Weiser Potatoes, Salsa Macha, Pistou.
- 1/2 Jidori Chicken $36, Purple Rice, Jimmy Nardellos, Scallion Chimichurri, Pea Tendrils.

Even if you aren’t into the live fire menu, there are still the more standard beer garden options of a monsterously tasty short rib pub burger, seasoned fries, and other equally tasty options. After Saturday, there is only one more service left on Sunday, July 19, for the World Cup final and the end of this incredible food speedrun. Timing and menu for Sunday, TBA.

As a reminder to burrito, or more properly, Burriho enthusiasts, HiHo Cheeseburger in Marina del Rey is bringing back its popular Burriho made with pastrami crafted from 100% grass-fed Wagyu from First Light Farms, soft scrambled eggs, melted cheese, spicy slow-cooked onions, and crispy HiHo fries. Also, for tortilla purists, the tortilla is now the Mejorado by Burritos La Palma. Burritos La Palma is one of the best burrito places in Southern California, but they aren’t that close to LA, so this is a great opportunity to eat one of the best tortillas available from the burrito experts at Burritos La Palma.
You can get yours between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. every Saturday at 4625 Admiralty Way #109, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292. It’s one of the best and juiciest breakfast burritos in the game. It’s tender and flavorful, and I am eating mine right now. The Burriho is actually my favorite menu item at HiHo, so I am stoked that it will be available every weekend until Labor Day for summer burrito madness.

Just in case you like coffee and tattoos, one of the newest coffee shops on Third Street, Cartel Roasting Co. (8018 W 3rd Street, near Park La Brea), is holding its actual grand opening on Saturday, July 18.

The normal shenanigans will take place on Sunday, one of six final Sundays for this ephemeral backyard hang with freshly baked breads, pastries, and pizza, and whatever baker and chef David Wilcox dreams up for dinner on Friday nights. This week it was cheeseburgers, because he felt like eating cheeseburgers, next week, who knows?

On Sundays, from 8 to noon, you can pick up freshly baked loaves of bread, like the pain de campagne, corn loaf, and muesli loaf, baguettes, and mine was still warm last Sunday, inventive, farmer’s market fresh pastries, toasts, including an egg salad toast and a pistachio butter and jam toast, usually strawberry, which is my favorite. If you devour a toast, it’s a great way to try out the bread before committing to an entire loaf. Sometimes they will break out the grill and vegetables or have focaccia closer to noon. The gruyere and leek scone with honey butter was the move. I can’t guarantee that this scone will be available, but they should release the Sunday menu today.
When available, they have an espresso bar from Lightform Coffee, but they always have regular brewed coffee priced at $3 per cup.
