The husband-and-wife owners will open the restaurant in their collection, which includes locations in Miracle Mile as well as The Night We Met and Met Him at a Bar.

Met Her at a Bar, the neighborhood cafe known for Belgian waffles and La Colombe coffee, plans to open a new location on Main Street in Santa Monica in August.

The husband-and-wife owners, Mindy and Vinny Kinne, will open the fifth restaurant in their growing collection, which already includes locations in Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile as well as The Night We Met, Met Him at a Bar and Her Thai.

The Santa Monica outpost, to be called Met Her on Main, will serve as a breakfast and lunch spot with the same casual vibe as the original cafe, which the couple established in 2017.

“It’s quite a moment for us. It was always Mindy’s dream to open a café or a small shop for her friends. She found a place, and we risked everything. But in the end, this is just a love story,” Vinny Kinne told Eater Los Angeles in December, as reported by The California Post.

The new cafe will be designed by Sormeh Rienne, who also styled Her Thai and led design upgrades at Met Him at a Bar, The California Post said, citing the news outlet.

On its website, the business describes its origin as a chance meeting on the Sunset Strip. Vinny Kinne said he spotted Mindy, introduced himself with the line “Three sheets to the wind,” but failed to get her number that night. The couple later connected through social media and went on to open their first cafe together.

The original Met Her at a Bar bills itself as a “hip little neighborhood cafe” specializing in homemade Belgian waffles and curated coffees.
