Softball Roundup:

Venice High made it eight wins in a row with a 21-1 Western League conquest of LACES. Once again Danielle Mestas stood out as she hit two home runs and drove in seven runs.

 Palisades lost a Western League game to Westchester, 7-4.

 Santa Monica, which has won the Ocean League five consecutive years, began its league schedule with a 20-0 win over Inglewood. Individual statistics are not provided to the media.

 Samohi also won a non-league game from Redondo, 5-4, and has a record of 9-5.
