DIG Childhood Center (formerly the YWCA Family Cooperative Preschool) will be hosting the 5th Annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction benefit on November 12, 2016, entitled Life, Liberty, Laughter – For a Better America! It is our largest and most important fundraiser to date.
We face a critical challenge, which threatens to shut down our toddler program and cooperative preschool. Earlier this year, we learned that the Santa Monica YWCA, where we’ve operated since 2011, would be sold. To save our school, a group of parents formed a 100% volunteer board to keep the programs running under our own non-profit organization. We worked through major obstacles to get licensed as our own entity, and we secured a short term lease from the SMYWCA to buy time to find a new location.
Our short term lease ends on December 30th, but, after investing hundreds of hours, we found a location that meets licensing requirements. There is much work to be done in order to bring the space up to compliance, keep our licensing, and make the space into our own special school.
Participation in our event, whether attending the Comedy Show, or contributing to the Silent Auction or Raffle, will support critical infrastructure as we relocate our beloved program.

The raffle drawing will be held after the show and winner must be present to win. Raffle tickets are $2 each.
