A Spirited Ceremony:

(l-r)The dedication ceremony for the Douglas DC-3 Monument Plaza at Santa Monica Airport took place on Saturday, March 21. About 1,500 people attended the event, including many former Douglas employees who stood to be recognized. The Douglas DC-3 Monument was made possible by the City of Santa Monica, the Douglas White Oaks Ranch Trust, David Price of the Santa Monica Museum of Flying, the DC-3 Restoration Team who spent thousands of hours bringing the plane to it’s current state, the retired employees of the Douglas Aircraft Company, the Employees Community Fund of Boeing California and SM architect Kristina Andresen who was the project architect.
