Chrysalis’ Butterfly Ball Is Saturday:

Chrysalis’ fourth annual Butterfly Ball on Saturday, April 9 will raise money to help economically disadvantaged and homeless people to find jobs.

Oren Aviv, Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures Marketing, Dana Walden, Twentieth Century Fox Television, and Ice Cube will be honored at the ball.

Net proceeds will go directly to Chrysalis, a nonprofit organization, which helps more than 2,000 individuals a year at three centers — in Los Angeles’ Skid Row, Santa Monica and Pacoima.

92 percent of the people who complete Chrysalis’ job readiness curriculum have found jobs, and 80 percent of those people remained in their jobs for six months or more. It is Chrysalis’ philosophy that a steady job is the single most important step in a person’s transition to long-term self-sufficiency.

To be held at the Bel Air home of Carla and Fred Sands, the Butterfly Ball will begin with a 6 p.m. VIP reception.

Cocktails will be served at 6:30, followed by dinner, awards and entertainment.Tickets are $1,000 and subject to availability. To purchase tickets, contact Orlando Suarez at Chrysalis: (310) 392-4117 ext. 742.
