City Of Santa Monica Offers Free Christmas Tree Recycling Service:

Santa Monica residents can take advantage of the City's free Christmas Tree Recycling Service.

Christmas has come and gone, but are you left wondering how to dispose of your unwanted Christmas tree?

The City of Santa Monica will collect Christmas trees for recycling at four local parks starting today, Dec. 26 and will continue through Jan. 31.

The City reminders residents that it is unlawful and a serious fire hazard to leave unwanted trees at the curb or in the alleys.

Santa Monica drop-off services at these parks:

• Douglas Park – Chelsea & Wilshire

• Reed Park – Lincoln & California

• Hotchkiss Park – 4th & Strand

• Clover Park – 25th & Ocean Park

For more information, contact the City of Santa Monica Resource Recovery & Recycling during the office hours of Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm at 310.458.2223.

Alternatively, email recycling@smgov.net or visit www.smgov.net/r3.

Those outside Santa Monica city limits may call the City of Los Angeles Christmas Tree Recycling Hotline: (800) 5-TREE-56 for information about recycling in their neighborhoods.
