LA to Offer Free Girls Golf Clinics During U.S. Women’s Open

Office of Karen Bass

The program, called Golf FORE Her, will run from June 4 through June 7 and take place at 10 city-owned golf courses.

Mayor Karen Bass announced Thursday that the city will host 32 free golf clinics for girls ages 7 to 17 at Los Angeles municipal golf courses during the 2026 U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship.

The program, called Golf FORE Her, will run from June 4 through June 7 and take place at 10 city-owned golf courses. It is organized by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.

The clinics are part of the city’s broader “Games for All” initiative, which aims to use major sporting events to expand recreational opportunities for residents, particularly in underserved communities.

The 2026 U.S. Women’s Open will bring the championship to Los Angeles, and city officials are using the event to introduce more young people, especially girls, to golf.

Specific course locations include Wilson and Harding in Griffith Park, Hansen Dam, Encino, Balboa, Woodley Lakes, Rancho Park, Penmar and Harbor Park.

The announcement comes as Los Angeles prepares to host multiple major international sporting events in the coming years, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
