On Thursday, March 17, approximately 100 Santa Monica College students gathered in front of the library and, armed with a variety of handmade placards, flags and banners, they marched to the armed services recruitment office at 20th Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.In addition to protesting the Iraqi war and on-campus military recruitment, the students called for an end to what they see as the government’s assault on citizens’ civil rights and destruction of the environment.
