Two injured after Porsche GT3 plunges 100 feet off Malibu hillside road

Emergency responders found both occupants after their vehicle rolled down an embankment.

Emergency crews rescued two people Tuesday afternoon after their sports car plunged roughly 100 feet down a steep embankment and landed near a residential construction site in Malibu.

California Highway Patrol officials received reports of the crash near the intersection of Saddle Peak and Stunt roads shortly before 4:30 p.m. A Porsche GT3 reportedly veered off the roadway, rolled down the hillside, and came to a rest in the driveway of a home located at 24071 Hovenweep Lane that is under construction.

Aerial footage of the scene showed the high-performance vehicle sustained heavy damage, with debris scattered across a nearby field. Responders noted that both occupants appeared alert and were moving following the impact, though the specific extent of their injuries has not been released.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash or if speed played a factor in the vehicle leaving the road.
