The Venice Family Clinic opened the first health, wellness and integrative medicine treatment center offered at a free clinic in the United States, in a ceremony at its Pico Boulevard location, now renamed the Simms/Mann Health and Wellness Center on Wednesday March 29. Through a $3 million gift from Vicki and Ron Simms and the Simms/Mann Family Foundation, the Center will open with a series of pilot programs centered around obesity prevention and management for age two through adult, chronic pain management, nutrition counseling, diabetes care, and stress management. The Center’s staff will include integrative medicine physicians, and acupuncture, chiropractic and osteopathic clinicians as well as a health and wellness coordinator and social workers.
