(Video) Construction Begins on Santa Monica Pier Bridge Replacement Ahead of 2028 Olympics

Construction is officially underway on the Santa Monica Pier Bridge replacement — a major upgrade to the nearly 90-year-old bridge that connects Ocean Avenue to the iconic Pier.

The Pier stays open during construction, with shops, restaurants, and parking still accessible as crews prepare for demolition next year and a brand-new, seismically upgraded bridge ahead of the 2028 Olympics. Reported by @juliet.lemar
