The Santa Monica Democratic Club has announced it will host State Senator Ted Lieu (Dem-28th District) followed by a candidate forum for the open 33rd Congressional District.

The event will take place Thursday, March 27 at 7 pm inside the community room on the second floor of the Santa Monica Main Library.

Lieu will begin the event by reporting on the state of the state and his role as State Senator.

Following Lieu’s remarks, the Santa Monica Democratic Club has invited Democratic candidates for the open 33rd Congressional District seat to address its members and the public in a forum.

In a crowded field, former Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, State Senator Ted Lieu, and Human Rights Attorney Barbara Mulvaney are among the candidates participating in the forum and question/answer session.

The event is open to the public and free to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

Santa Monica Main Library is located at 601 Santa Monica Boulevard, Santa Monica.

Lieu is nothing more than a panderer. He will do whatever it takes to obtain a vote. Don't allow this pinhead to reach the next rung in the political ladder

While not a visionary or one to bring great inspiration with a speech, yet Ted Lieu has one of the best environmental records in Sacramento and is quite responsive to community concerns. For instance, he is concerned about the Santa Monica Fault and the Hollywood Fault -- whereas lesser candidates would want to rubber-stamp their developer buddies' plans and suppress concerns about seismic dangers.
