Padua Playwrights Productions is presenting the world premiere of The Gary Plays, the first three plays in a quartet of new work by renowned playwright Murray Mednick.
Taken as a whole, the three plays, Tirade for Three, Gary’s Walk, and Girl on a Bed, chronicle life in the impoverished underbelly of the City of Angels, as Gary, a destitute former actor, attempts to come to terms with the senseless murder of his son.
Tirade for Three directed by Guy Zimmerman and Gary’s Walk, directed by Mednick, open Thursday, March 31. Girl on a Bed, directed by Zimmerman, opens Friday, April 1. The plays run through May 8.
The casts of the three plays include Christopher Allport, Donald Berman, Peggy Blow, Devon Carson, Shawna Casey, Hugh Dane, John Diehl, Shannon Holt, Andy Hopper, Jack Kehler, Tom McCleister, Niamh McCormally, Mickey Swenson and Dana Wieluns.
The score was composed and will be performed by Don Preston. Costumes are by Barbara Lempel.
