Rosendahl Names Top Council Staffers:

Finally off the campaign trail and preparing to take his seat on the L.A. City Council on July 1, Councilman-elect Bill Rosendahl announced two key appointments last week.

He named Mike Bonin, his campaign manager, as his City Hall chief of staff and head of his transition. He also announced that Margaret Hasheminejad, his longtime television producer, would join his staff as his executive assistant and scheduler.

Rosendahl said he would meet this week with the city’s Chief Legislative Analyst and Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski, whom he will succeed, to arrange the transition.

“Cindy was one of the first to call and offer congratulations,” Rosendahl said. “I am thrilled by her commitment to making sure we have a seamless transition that puts the needs of our constituents first.”

Bonin, a Venice resident who was Deputy Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Jane Harman before becoming Rosendahl’s campaign manager previously spent seven years working for Councilwoman Ruth Galanter, who represented much of the area now in the 11th District. In Galanter’s office, he handled environmental policy, public safety issues, and major district projects, such as the renovation of Venice Beach.

Hasheminejad has worked with Rosendahl since 1995, producing the bulk of Rosendahl’s public affairs programming; including “Week in Review,” “Beyond the Beltway,” and “Local Talk.” She also served as his chief executive assistant when he was a cable TV executive.

“Margaret and Michael are wonderful people with tremendous skill and great knowledge,” Rosendahl said. “They are committed to my vision of a better Los Angeles and will be an integral part of implementing that vision.”

Rosendahl said his campaign office at 12023 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista would serve as his official transition office. All scheduling requests will be handled by Hasheminejad, who can be reached at the office at (310) 398-4890.Job applicants should send a resume and cover letter via email to rosendahl2005@yahoo.com.
