SMASH Holds Its Annual Carnival Fundraiser:

Santa Monica Alternative School House (SMASH) has issued an invitation to the entire community to attend its annual carnival and fundraiser Saturday afternoon, June 18, from noon to 5 p.m. The family festival will feature multi-ethic food booths, raffle prizes and children’s games and activities – ranging from a water slide to a toddler’s petting zoo.

Nearly 200 items will be offered in a silent auction, including weekend getaways, local dining packages and exclusive sporting and entertainment events. Live music will be played throughout the day at adjacent Los Amigos Park, featuring performances by alumni, students and the Grateful Dads.

SMASH is a K-8 public school committed to diversity and a progressive curriculum. Teachers and staff will be on hand to meet residents eager to learn more about its non-traditional public education. Admission is free.The school is located at Fifth Street and Ocean Park Boulevard.
