Coach Frustrated By Another SMC Defeat:

The latest Santa Monica College football defeat was so frustrating to Coach Robert Taylor that he refused to offer praise for any player on the squad.

“No highlights,’’ he said. “Nothing to report.”

SMC, which is winless in four games, lost to West Los Angeles College, 70-30, last Saturday afternoon on the WLA field.

Taylor didn’t have much praise for the opponents either.

“They’re an ordinary team,’’ he said. “They’re OK. The one outstanding team we’ve played is Fullerton, and that was our best game.

“We’re suffering. Until our players grow up, the suffering will continue at Santa Monica College.”

Taylor said he planned to change personnel and he did.

“We made a lot of changes and we’ll change again,” he said.SMC will be away again Saturday, playing at LA Southwest College.
