Fast Start Leads To Another Brentwood Victory:

With some challenging league games coming up, the Brentwood football team took care of business Saturday in a 42-14 home victory over Maranatha.

Brentwood scored three touchdowns in one minute, 19 seconds and built a 28-0 lead in the first quarter.

“We jumped on them early,” said Coach Patrick Brown.

Brentwood took the opening kickoff and marched to a touchdown with Kevin Yamazaki scoring on a five-yard run. Following a fumble recovery. Yamazaki scored from six yards out.

Malcom Henderson then forced a fumble. Andrew Boggs picked up the ball and ran eight yards for another score. From there, the issue was never in doubt as Yamazaki scored a third touchdown and Brentwood improved its record to 6-1 while Maranatha suffered its second loss.

Henderson had five tackles, including two for losses. Ian Shaw had six tackles and an interception.

Maranatha had just four first downs.Brentwood will play its final home regular season game Friday at 2:15 against Calvary Chapel. That will leave road games against league powers Whittier Christian and Campbell Hall.
