Sewage Spill Closes Beach at Rose Avenue:

The L.A. County Health Department announced yesterday that it had closed the beach 100 yards north and 100 yards south of Rose Avenue, following a sewage spill.

A tree root blocked a line, causing 200 gallons of sewage to overflow from a manhole into a storm drain and then into the ocean.According to officials, the beach will reopen when bacteria levels meet state health standards.
