Santa Monica resident and veteran healthcare professional Kathleen Hunt has returned to Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center as its chief nursing officer.
In 1977, Hunt became a staff nurse in Cardiac Rehabilitation at Santa Monica Hospital, worked her way through the management ranks and was director of Cardio-Pulmonary and Imaging Services when UCLA Healthcare acquired Santa Monica Hospital in 1995.
She then became the first director to oversee departments at both the Westwood and Santa Monica medical centers. As director of Interventional Services, she had responsibility for all Surgical Services and the Catheterization Labs at both hospitals. Most recently, she was interim director of the Emergency and Transportation departments at the Westwood hospital.
“Kathleen brings a wealth of experience and considerable talents to this crucial position and we are excited to have her back at Santa Monica-UCLA on a full-time basis,” said Posie Carpenter, chief administrative officer.Hunt holds a bachelor’s degree in health care from Redlands University and a master’s degree in business administration from La Verne University.
