On March 8, the Gelfand/Stearns family of Santa Monica will be honored by the Alzheimer’s Association for raising more than $2 million to fight the disease through The Judy Fund.The family created The Fund in honor of family matriarch, Judy Gelfand. The family will be honored at “A Night at Sardi’s,” the association’s 14th annual gala at the Beverly Hilton. Garry Marshall will present family members with the Abe Burrows Entertainment Award, which was created in memory of the legendary Broadway playwright and director by his daughter, chair Laurie Burrows Grad. Pulitzer Prize winner Burrows created Guys and Dolls and How to Succeed in Business… before dying of Alzheimer’s.
