REI, the outdoor gear and clothing retailer, is conducting a hiring fair this Saturday, March 18, in preparation for the May 5th opening of its Santa Monica store. The hiring event will be held at its temporary office location at 1500 Lincoln Blvd. in Venice at 9am, 11am and 2pm. The new store will be at the corner of 4th St. and Santa Monica Blvd. in the space formerly occupied by Toys R Us.The company is looking to hire over 60 employees in three departments – clothing & footwear, camping, and action sports – and is seeking retail salespersons, shipping and receiving specialists, bankers, cashiers and customer service representatives.
