SM Angels Win Softball Tournament:

The Santa Monica Angels won the tournament of champions for minor league softball, an event hosted by the North Venice Little League.

It was a single elimination tournament. The Santa Monica Angels defeated Playa Vista, West Los Angeles and Culver City, 13-10 in the championship game.

Caitlin Cavanaugh was named Most Valuable Player after striking out six of the final seven batters she faced.

Some other players instrumental in the wins were Sophie Innocenti, Nicole Roebuck, Dani Klein, Katrina Kravitz and Morgan Pantuk.

The coaches were Mitch Dorf and Marc Dauber.
