Drive-Through ATM Theft:

On Wednesday, December 6, at 10:40 p. m., officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to 1776 Cloverfield Boulevard (Exxon mini-mart/gas station) regarding the theft of an ATM machine. Not theft from an ATM machine. Not theft at an ATM machine. Not even theft by an ATM machine. But theft of an ATM machine.

Witnesses stated that a woman had purchased gas and then walked into the store. After a few minutes, she walked out of the store and waved to a man who was driving a truck. The man then drove his truck into the Exxon mini-mart building. Not up to the building. But into the building. This had the effect of dislodging the ATM machine.

The man then took the ATM machine, containing an unknown amount of currency (don’t they all?), and both suspects then fled in the vehicle that the woman had driven to the location. The truck that the man had driven (into the store) was left at the scene. There were no reported injuries.

The female suspect is described as being white, in her mid 20’s, wearing a grey sweater. The male suspect is described as being white, in his 30’s, 6’1”, 160 lbs and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

The “suspect vehicle” is described as possibly a green or dark grey 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck
