New Light-Filled Sanctuary at First Pres:

The First Presbyterian Church of Santa Monica reopened the doors to its remodeled sanctuary on March 25 after being closed for a year, during which time services were held in its small chapel. Designed to allow natural light to shine throughout the church, skylights, a new balcony and banks of windows now flood the colorful interior. A party followed opening day services where Dr. William Wood, Pastor, said, “The mood was one of great celebration and delight.” Dr. Wood commented, “We’ve been plotting and planning this renovation for 10 years, and getting back into the room was a huge sigh of relief, and we look forward to sharing this space with the entire community.”

The official rededication ceremony – complete with dignitaries and politicians – will be held on June 3.
