Ping Pong Event Arrives At SMC:

The Golden West USA Table Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Santa Monica College’s Corsair Pavilion Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, featuring international participants.

            The event will be held 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days.         A brief ceremony will be held Sunday at 1 p.m., recognizing the 36th anniversary of ’’Ping Pong Diplomacy,’’ a match between the USA and China in 1971 that created worldwide headlines. The late Glenn Cowan, an SMC alumnus, was the youngest player on that USA squad.
