The Ocean League champion Santa Monica High baseball team begins the CIF playoffs Thursday, May 17 in a home game at 3:15 p.m. against La Habra High, the third place team from the Frontier League.
The Samohi softball team, also Ocean League champions, will be home Friday at 3:15 against the winner of a wild card game.
Both teams will advance to a second round game Tuesday, May 22, should they win.
The Brentwood School baseball team, which finished second in the Alpha League, will open the playoffs Friday at Carpinteria High.
