Samohi Hockey Team Wins Championship:

The Santa Monica High hockey team has won the South Bay High School Championship for the second straight year.

         The team finished third in the regular season, then defeated El Segundo in the playoff semifinals to reach the title game against Loyola. Sparked by the goal-tending of Mark Martelli, Samohi won, 3-2, at the Toyota Center, the LA Kings’ training facility.         Mitch Callahan scored two goals and Lucas Digati the other. Gabe Levin and Trevor Harris had assists.
