Palisades Girls Win Tennis Title Again:

The Palisades High girls’ tennis team has won the Los Angeles City Section championship for the third straight year.

Top-seeded Palisades defeated second-seeded Taft, 5-2, in the final match at the Balboa Sports Center in Encino, giving Coach Bud Kling his 30th championship. Kling has coached 14 Palisades girls’ teams and 16 boys’ teams to titles since the 1980s.

Palisades’ Katy Nikolova defeated Taft’s Sara Cohen in No. 1 singles, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6, and Palisades won all three doubles matches.

The Dolphins doubles winners were Audrey Ashraf with Phoebe Driscoll, Rose Scraff with Yasamin Ghiasi, and Erika Lee with Kathryn Cullen.

Palisades finished the season with a 19-2 record.
