Back in El Monte, the Delgados – Bob, Joe, and Steve -– were known for their jam sessions, which brought in the likes of future bandmate Ray Solis and Los Lobos’ David Hildago. Eventually, the Delgado Brothers formed as a proper recording group and released their debut album in 1987. Since then the band, which is rounded out by keyboardist Dave Kelly, have been critical darlings of the blues scene. The Delgado Brothers recently released the record A Brother’s Dream through Bell Asher Records.

Mr. Scruff

Hailing from the U.K., Mr. Scruff is a world renowned DJ known for mixing up styles of dance music for hours at a time as animated visuals, which he creates, play in the background. As a producer who records primarily with the critically adored label Ninja Tune, his work has infiltrated both global nightclubs and international TV sets. You might recognize his track “Get a Move On” from both Volvo and Lincoln commercials. This afternoon gig follows Mr. Scruff’s Saturday night performance at El Rey Theatre and is hosted by Sundaze, a new promotion from the folks behind Venice hotspot Funky in the Middle.
