Laurel Rosen (center) was honored Sunday for her volunteerism with the Generous Spirit Award Recognizing Unparalleled Generosity by Turning Point. The Brilliant Star Award was given to the Steaven Jones Development Company who have been hiring OPCC clients for several years. The luncheon was held at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
Established in 1983, Turning Point Transitional Housing is a 55-bed shelter for homeless men and women that offers housing and supportive services for up to 9 months. The project seeks to break the cycle of homelessness and to integrate homeless individuals back into the community by providing comprehensive, individualized services designed to address their physical and emotional needs. Turning Point is a project of OPCC (formerly Ocean Park Community Center).
