The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network’s (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure will take place this year in Los Angeles and 25 other U.S. cities to raise money for food allergy research and education. Last year, the events raised more than $1 million nationwide.
More than 500 Los Angeles-area residents are expected to walk with company teams, organizational groups, families, and individually. Joining them in spirit will be the National Honorary Chair, country music star Trace Adkins.
Launched in 2004 by FAAN, Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure raises funds for research, advocacy, awareness, and educational programs to benefit the 12 million Americans affected by food allergy, a potentially fatal condition that is rapidly increasing in prevalence. FAAN (foodallergy.org) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public awareness of food allergy and its consequences, to educating people about the condition, to advocating on behalf of all those affected by it, and to advancing research into its causes, prevalence, cure, and prevention.
The Los Angeles 2008 Walk for Food Allergy takes place Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Post-event activities begin at approximately 2:00 p.m. The walk begins at 2600 Barnard Way, Santa Monica. (Barnard & Fraser Intersection)
