Samohi & St. Monica Girls Win Tournament Games:

Santa Monica and St. Monica each earned a victory in girls basketball tournament games during the week that began December 8.

Samohi cruised to a 65-36 win over West Torrance in the Redondo Tournament, as junior guard Thea Lemberger scored 19 points and Jennie Harding contributed 15.

St. Monica routed Artesia, 79-52, in the St. Anthony Tournament. Cory Languardia scored 25 points and Christian Johnson had 20. With the wins Samohi improved to a 4-1 record and St. Monica is 2-2.

In a pair of non-league games Venice lost to Carson, 60-24, and to Marlborough, 60-25.
