Eat, Drink and Support a Good Cause:

Do you like to kill two birds with one stone? If so, break out that day planner and mark February 26 on your calendar as a day to discover a new restaurant and simultaneously generate funding for a non-profit in need. The program is aptly titled “Go Eat LA” and it creates one of those situations commonly referred to as a win-win – you eat, someone in need benefits.

An annual, one-day fundraising event for Aid for Aids, “Go Eat LA” finds more than 50 restaurants in Los Angeles County donating 15 percent or more of their day’s proceeds to help prevent homelessness and hunger for impoverished people living with HIV/AIDS. Simply go to a participating restaurant on February 26, eat breakfast, lunch or dinner and your good deed is done. If you want to be eligible for a bit of pampering, ask your server for an entry form for the “Go Eat LA” grand prize giveaway, a luxury stay at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. In addition to the grand prize, two local businesses – The Beachcomber and Hotel Casa Del Mar, both of which are serving as event sponsors – will have their own giveaway treats, so don’t forget to ask about prizes.

Below is a list of local restaurants where Santa Monicans can dine for a good cause on February 26. The list of participating restaurants is growing daily, so check the website for updates. Bon Appetit!
