SMC Men Enter Four Basketball Tournaments:

In an effort to sharpen their skills for Western State Conference competition, the Santa Monica College mens’ basketball team has entered four tournaments next season.

The Corsairs will compete against formidable opposition in the Irvine Valley, Rio Hondo, Saddleback, and Diablo Valley events.

One possible opponent is state champion Riverside.

Coach Jerome Jenkins saw what level of play is required when he took over the program last season from Jesse Teplitzky, who moved on to Cerritos College.Last season SMC didn’t qualify for the playoffs, but four Western State Conference opponents did — Citrus, West LA, Valley, and Bakersfield.
